Pre Mol. 10

I saw an image of a pre Mod. 10, 4" pencil barrel and round butt., circa 1921. The gun has a Hogue grip and NO other grips. Owner is asking $325. or offer. Give me some thoughts on this one. Thanks for your help.

Hard to do without photos of serial number. Replacement with original stocks would be expensive.

Based on what little you have given us to work with , I'd say that the deal/price is not very attractive.

Its value is dependent on its mechanical and (mostly) cosmetic condition. A sound but worn .38 Military & Police of that era may be a $200-250 gun, and a pristine one perhaps $500-600 (with original stocks and finish).

period correct stocks could be $150 or more.....but you can find aftermarket replacements for about $50 that look nicer than rubbers

Lee, I have one just like yours, shipped 12- 1916. # 230842, also a round butt. Unfired, but dropped, causing a minor amount of damage. Stocks are un numbered, but correct. Big Larry

I think I have one made 10/1916 or so. Fun gun. I paid 300 btw. Pictures make it look better than it is. She has alot of holster wear. But a good bore.

Lee and Big Larry, I too have the same M&P revolver as yours with round butt and medallion stocks (which are numbered to the gun). Mine is sn 229154 shipped April 4, 1916.

Mine would have been Drippy Mint if some clown hadn't dropped it. It has the correct stocks, but no number. These are M1905 3rd change if I am correct. Big Larry

Yes, that's correct. They are Military & Police Model of 1905 Third Change.
