Pre Victory 38/200 Headache

The more I read all your comments and read over and again Mr Pates book & look at other guns on the net I think you are probaly right, you know what its like when something nags at you but your in denial, I will look for a better original one and let this one go to a friend eventually, keep any new info coming though, I love researching my guns, the trouble is I didn't start researching in the past until I actually bought a gun now I read up then go looking for one (the way you should lol).
I don't know if its a taboo make on here but if anyone ever needs help with info on FN Browning pistols from the period 1899~1945 (dates/markings/rare ones etc) send me a line as this is my knowledgable area.
What I shall do if possible & you all don't mind is if I see a gun I like I will pop a photo of it on here for your comments etc.

I thought that the awful gun law of 1997 there kept about all handguns out of the hands of the British public.

What are you allowed to have? Can you keep guns in your home, or do they need to be stored somewhere?

Just curious.

Yes you are right about that law, I think the only working handguns you can own now are antique flints & percussions, any obsolete calibres and modern handguns with barrels about 4 feet long LOL.
If you read my intro on the welcome to new members section all the details are on there about what I collect (just to save me writing it all down again)

Okay, I checked the New Members area. So, I guess this gun is deactivated?

I'm glad that my ancestors left the UK. You have my sympathy. Tony Blair was a good ally on the whole, I guess, but his socialistic gun control record really stinks. He did what I thought would only happen if the Soviets had defeated us in a real war.

Of course, our own Democratic politicians are about as bad.

Yep your right they are all deactivated, our goverment and it doesn't seem to matter which party are in charge at the time keep trying to ban even deactivated weaponsI think its just to make themselves look good to the anti gun lobby.
