My sweet wife helped me get this gun for Christmas, found it in a safe in Texas where it has been over 30 years. It has the original box, the original pamphlet, and the shipping receipt from S&W to an Officer G. C. Johnson who spent $44 for it and it was shipped May 10, 1935 through Railway Express Agency. The receipt also reads in care of Police Department. Can't tell for sure which police department yet. I did not post whole photos of receipt or pamphlet. All numbers match, including the grips and box. Appears to be near new, with minor shelf wear. No rework marks or dates.

Beautiful condition pre-war. Restores my belief that I too can (maybe) someday find a treasure like yours. Amazing find.

M&P SNUB

WOW !!! I've got a pretty nice M&P snub from 1949, yours TAKES THE CAKE !!!:D:D

Posting pictures of this gun is way to give other users the ability to see what it supposed to look like for an original pre-war. I tried to show the pictures of areas on this gun that collectors should be familiar with for factory originality instead of a rework. I have found many guns and purchased several that I would not be so much in a hurry to show everyone on this forum, but were part of my learning experience. It evidently takes a few "pigs" to help find a "jewel." I have been using this forum as a resource to increase my knowledge since I joined. I have realized since I joined the forum that my knowledge was very limited in many, many areas of Smith and Wesson collecting. While I certainly enjoy the positive comments for this gun, I would never have had the expertise to find something like this if it was not for the experts that give their time and knowledge to this forum. Kudos to all of you!
