I received an m&p target recently that have, what I believe, pre war magnas. Pictured are the grips off the gun along side a set of post war "transition" magnas that number to the gun shown. My new magnas are unnumerbed so I'm trying to see if these are in fact the rare and elusive pre war k magnas that everone talks about. The only difference I can see in these two sets is the outline around the checkering which seems to be a little finer on the left grip shown. Thoughts?

Larry:
My ignorant opinion from the photos is that they are one and the same, pre-war magnas. The ones on the S prefix gun were most likely made before the war and installed afterward. Both very nice.

They look to be the pre-WW2 style, but what seems confusing to me is the
checkering. It seems coarser that the pre-WW2 magnas that I have. I wonder
if they are very early post-WW2 magnas, but made before the redesign of the
K-frames.

What they ^^^ said about the stocks, but I'd sure like to see a pic of the whole gun. Sure looks to be in nice shape from what we can see
