I recently acquired this wonderful set of non-checkered service stocks. I had heard about such stocks being made but this is the first set I've seen. The wood is above average and the medallions are stunning. Dare I say these are early "presentation" stocks. The serial number on the right-hand panel says 33747 which narrows the potential models these could have shipped on. Someone with more experience on serial numbers could assist on the date range? Perhaps a 3rd Model .44 or a .38-44 Heavy Duty?

I'm honored to own these and apparently earned some "gun" luck after my recent reference guide on N Frame Stocks. Enjoy!

Hmmm.... Different number on each panel? The 33000 serial range would be ca. 1929-'30 - which is about the beginning of the silver medallion era. I've got a Model of 1926 that's somewhere in the 33700's....

I didn't know that style existed. Now I've got a hole in my complete set of pre-war N walnut grip variations. :-(

Those are sure nuff pretty.

But, the medallion kinda look like some of those sterling silver one that are around about.

Hope their just what you think they are...because they're purty.

Congratulations! This proves there are still great pieces just wanting to be discovered. They would be a centerpiece in my stock collection.
