No experience with 38 special however, the 380 XTP was the ammo quest winner years ago
I use it in my BG2.0 with no issues, good stuff.

I've had no problems with their ammo and have a friend who shoots a LOT of it, exclusively and he's happy with them. They've been under new management for a while now but as far as I know, nothing has changed.

FWIW I bought a few hundred rounds when a lot of places including the local range didn't have any .38 spl in stock. Also some .380 ACP. Seemed fine. I found a few complaints on-line but those seemed to be older posts.
I thought the wadcutter was fine and of course loved the big neat holes punched in the paper. I wasn't a good enough shooter then to pickup on any subtlties but it all shot fine, no high primers or other issues. I still have some 125 gr FMJ.

I just ordered 250 rounds of the same ....it should be here on Monday.
If they shoot well I'll buy more .
ironic as bullseyeshooter forum states any plated bullet cannot shoot we;; especially berrys plated and those are what your shooting

I THINK what .38magnum is trying to say is that according to a forum called 'bullseye' no plated bullet can shoot well. Berry's, Precision One or any other plated bullet. I'm sure that he can correct me if I got it wrong and it would be helpful if he gave some reasoning for this blanket statement. Unfortunately, I don't think I shoot pistols well enough to test the difference between jacketed, plated, coated, solid copper or plain lead but I'm in the process of trying.

I tried a box today ...they are mixed brass reloads .
From my S & W 14-1 from a supported rest at 15 yards the groups were in the 3" - 4" range .
Not at all good and I must say I am very disappointed .
I'm glad I only purchased 250 rounds to start .

I bought the factory fresh ones in new Starline brass, they shoot clean and great out of my 442 and 3 inch 64. I shot my LEOSA course with no problems.
The reloads I bought shot clean enough ....they just are not at all accurate and they should be out of a S & W 14-1
I know it's not me because just to double check I shot my Ruger MK II target using the same hold and was getting 1 inch groups at the same distance.
I realize mixed brass reloads may not be as accurate as matching brass ....but 3" - 4" groups is just plain bad.
Perhaps ....and I do mean perhaps I'll try their factory fresh loads when they're available .
I'm left with 4 boxes of plinker grade ammo ....good only on large targets.

I can vouch that it is good ammo, but I haven't measured any groups. I CAN'T 'shoot bullseye'. I usually get 'a' bullseye out of a 10 round group.

Well this was interesting today, and not in a good way.
Used the remaining 40 rnds of 125 gr FMJ and in the J frame there were several low velocity shots. Now that 36-1 has a marginal hammer spring, so I fired the remaining cartridges in a Charter Arms with a strong spring and had a very noticible powder puff shot. It was like a .22 - no recoil - sights stayed on the bullseye.
I also fired Roze 158 gr SWC reloads from both revolvers and the velocities and my hits were much more consistant. I certainly didn't expect any issues from the Precision One .38 Spl. These might have been from a 250 rnd bulk pack which was not boxed (I'll have to check my notes). Regardless, since I posted earlier that it worked fine for me, this follow up was needed.

Update. Further testing makes me suspect that particular revolver may not like those truncated cone bullets. Through a K-frame the velocities were more consistan (although still over 150 fps spread) and the points of impact were point of aim.
These are B-8 targets at 15 yards
12 and 6 offhand single action 158 gr Zero; 10 double action, 5 off hand PO 125 FMJ
