Presentation Grip Question

Bought a pair of uncheckered presentation grips made from Osage Orange straight out of the factory blister pack, about 1980. They have a glossy finish that has "crazed" over the years with many fine cracks in the finish. Only factory Osage Orange I have seen.

Most vintage stocks from the 1970's & 80's had what appears to be a gloss lacquer finish however semi-gloss is quite glossy. Some are smoother and or more plastic like than others. Early stocks were more subdued, some sort of oil/shellac mix finish that has a sheen but doesn't layer up on the surface like lacquer or urethane.

Thanks for attaching the picture. Those all look like they are semi-gloss.

Those are early stocks. Here are some combat stocks from the 80's.

Actually there not
The first 3 show the less candy coated finish.
The 4th shows an early probably about the time the change was made and the last a 70's set.

PS ....I'll take the middle top set...lol
