Friday I had an oil change for my truck on my agenda. I had thought about giving it a good bath too.

My wife came outside to sit with me (supervise my safety and keep me hydrated.)

The oil change was uneventful. I also re-torqued the bolts on nerf bars I installed a couple of years ago.

As I was cleaning up and putting away my tools I mentioned using the pressure washer to clean the truck. My wife asked if I had notice the north side porch gable siding being grungy?

Well, I knew what that meant.

After several trips up and down my Gorilla ladder the gable looks great!

Now the rest of the trim must be done. The good news is, it's a brick house and I don't have to wash the entire house. Also I can do most of the remainder of the front and back from the ground.

The bad, the two side gables are high. The eastside gable is very high! As I've gained a little age heights that were once nothing now bother me.

I may slip out soon and wash my truck before the wife redirects what energy I have left back to the house...

I'm grateful for my wife looking after me, pointing out the more important work that needs doing and that it's a brick house!

Hubby used to use the pool cleaning brush and pressure washer to clean the north side of the house. No problem reaching up two stories from the ground with the pool pole fully extended.

I need to wash our house, bought the stuff from Lowes, but haven't tried it yet. I wanted to hire some of the kids from church, but they are afraid of sweat.

Have a blessed day,

Leon

Church fund raiser; used to be you could hire a teen or two for raking leaves. Now they want you to feed them while they play video games!

27 years ago, my oldest two boys worked around the pastor's home for the day. At the end of the day the pastor ask what he owed them? They told him it was at his discretion. He went to pay them $50 each. They refused his money as they felt it would be wrong to charge a man who freely gives his time to everyone! They went back to youth group and put the $100 in the "Camp Fund", it came from their $35 a month allowance, their odd job money and birthday gifts! (and never said where it came from!) My wife and I figured it out when everyone compared notes. My sons understood the scripture, "It is better to give, than to receive!" They were snatched up by employers as soon as they were old enough!
