Stopped at a gun shop this week. The owner pulled out two of his own guns that he offered for sale. One was a pre model 27, 8 3/8", made in 1956 with the high polish blue. 95% condition, He wanted $1,500. I think that was high what about you.

I don't have photos but it's 95% not 92% or 99% I do this for a living. But I know what you mean.

It is worth exactly whatever you are willing to pay, not a nickel more or less; doesn't matter what anyone else thinks.

Sounds high to me too. Maybe if it included all the extras (box etc.). Even then sounds high.

But it depends on how much you want it. The longer barrels never did anything for me but some people love them.

I am a long barrel lover, but that sounds high unless it has the goodies, or at least some of them (Box, tools, paperwork...) then it sounds low.;)

I'd pay $1,200 or so for a 95% one and I have more than a handful of the 8.375" pre-27s.

BTW: The proper and correct term used to describe these long-tube, tapered barrel, high polish, Patridge sighted, checkered ribbed, pinned & recessed, .357 Magnum tack drivers is ... wait for it..."ELEGANT" ... yeah, that's the word...:D:cool::)
