Years ago I had a S&W .32-20 Hand Ejector that wasn't a high condition collectible, but I loved the cartridge and the way it shot. I sold it thinking someday I'd replace it, but never came across one locally. Last weekend at a gun show I came across a 4th variation from the mid 1920's at a gun show, but I felt it was a little high for the condition. Made the guy an offer of $100 less and he declined it. Next day I saw he still had it, and had knocked $50 off his price. I made the same offer as the day before and this time he took it.
It's again not a high end Smith, and has the wrong grips for a 4th change version; but it will do for a shooter and maybe find a decent pre War grip set cheap someday. Just happy to have one back in my collection to shoot.

Good for you, mm93.

5" barrel. Made before about 1927. Stocks are post-1953.

Care to share the serial number for the database?

I've got several 32-20s, both S&W and Colt. Can't imagine selling any of them.
I have three rifles and this makes three pistols all in .32-20 chamber. One Remington Hepburn, another #2 Rolling Block, and a Ballard #2 Deluxe rifle. My other two handguns are both SAA models; one Colt and one Uberti.

Forgot to mention I also have a Savage Model 23 bolt action in 32-20. Also have versions of that fine old rifle in 25-20, 22 Hornet, and 22 LR.

Why would you even ask this? Just what makes you think it's a stolen firearm?
I don't think for a second that's what Gary meant, he's more likely wondering why you're not willing to share the S/N in public instead of by PM...Others besides Jack can add to their own databases...The databases can benefit all of us...(y)...Ben

Like mm93, I have always liked the .32-20 round; easy to shoot, and generally very accurate. I had a matched pair of Colt Bisleys in .32-20, long (7 1/2") barrels and stag stocks, as well as an 1892 Winchester to go with them; lost them in the wildfire in 2020. I get a little teary-eyed when I think about them.

Well if it was stolen I wouldn't share the serial number with anyone, and wouldn't even have posted the gun here at all. So I think the question should have never been asked.
I assumed whatever "database" he mentioned was accessible to anyone, and no need to post it here also?

Many years ago I was all excited about the Handgun Silhouette game, and figured a TC Contender in 32-20 would be the very thing. However, when I approached no less personage than Skeeter Skelton (who had written much about his love of the 32-20) he surprised me by shutting down the idea in favor of the then-new 32 H&R. He extolled the virtues of easy reloading, long brass life, etc, etc.
I kinda changed my direction. After all who would argue with Skeeter (besides maybe Bill Jordan)?
BTW, I think I still have three 32-20s around here. One of them is even a Smith M&P.
