Price for 99% 868+ Talo Edition??

I put my 99% 3" 686+ Talo Edition (rounded red cocobolo grips) on consignment today. I had a trigger job ($75) done to it and also included a pair of Hogue rubber grips. It has less than 200 rounds through it, and is perfectly clean (could probably pass for bnib).

I wanted to list it at $750. The guy in the shop looked in his book and said it was only listed at $400 since it was used.

Does this sound right to you folks? I want to be fair but still get what it's worth. Thanks for any input.

I would say $550 to $650.

Did he mean $400 to you after his commission? Does he take more than 20%?

He wanted to list it at $400 and take 15%. That percentage is standard around here. But the 400 seems way low to me.

I really can't remember what I paid, gonna have to go through my paperwork. I would think that I could ask about 85% of original price and then a little tacked on for the trigger job.

I think $400 is low also. I have sold a few guns on consignment and have found a 15% commission to be the norm. If it were mine, I would try to list it at around $650. In my opinion, you probably won't get a premium for the trigger job unless you could prove a very reputable gunsmith did the services. Some buyers will actually be put off because it has been messed with and is no longer in factory condition.

The trigger job and Hogue grip add nothing to the price. That said, whoever told you $400 is either an idiot or a crook. A clean 3" 686 w/IL is worth every bit of $600+ depending on geography. Tell that individual to pound sand and list your revolver here in the classified section with some decent pix.

Thanks for all the input, I'll go in today and change it to $630. I'll see what reactions we get and adjust accordingly.
