In order to help determine whether available ammo is priced fairly, I was wondering if others would give their opinions on a fair price per round for different calibers.
For consistency, I'm taking about new brass-case ammo for target shooting.
Here's the list I have so far:
.38 special: $.33 - $.36 per round
.40 s&w: $.30 - $.33 per round
.357 mag: $.50-$.55 per round
.223/5.56: $.47-.$50 per round
Defensive/hollow-point ammo: $.90 to $1.00 per round
Please add your own for different calibers, or refute my prices if you must. My prices are as seen around my home in central IA.
