Prices

Food prices are the Mrs. department. Anything kitchen related is hers to figure out what to do for the most part.

Gas prices, I tend to look at this possibly a little different than many people. I'm not as concerned of the price of gas as I'm concerned of the availability of gas.

Living rural and not many gas stations close by, the last thing I want is the nonsense of the 70s gas problems. Quarter mile line of cars going into the station! Odd-even, no gas sold to over a 1/2 tank. Yes for a while we had to look into customers cars, see the gauge and if low enough allow them to get ten gallons.

Yes the above is true, I worked for many years PT at my buddies speed shop/garage. Do to circumstances much construction work was shut down so I played bouncer and dispensed gas till we ran out at his garage!

So as said I will gladly pay the price assuming we have gas available.

I was much younger and healthier in the early 70s than I'm today and things were much easier to handle then.

I don't know what everyone is complaining about, I'm still paying the same for a package of ground beef as I was 2 years ago.

Gas prices in the UK are certainly biting. On their freeways over the last few weeks I was tripping over cars going 10-15 under the National Speed Limit (NSL) of 70. In one case near Stonehenge I came upon one guy trundling along at about 45 mph on a 70 mph freeway in the left lane. Legal, but hardly smart, IMHO.

I just paid $6.05 per gallon for 87 octane here in Phoenix but it's okay .... I'm going to sell a kidney to help cover costs.

So glad I drive 3 miles a day to my office...

Prices have actually gone down a notch here in WNY. I paid $4.83 yesterday (from $4.89 last week). When the state lifted the gas taxes in June, the price dipped to $4.69 for literally a single day before hitting $4.99.

But I'm just so very happy that the oil companies can strive for their double-digit profit margins while my local family-owned grocery store scrapes by at 0.25% as a result of higher transport costs to feed those oil profit margins ...

I had cause to use I-15 yesterday. The price of gas seemed to have little or no effect on the speeds reached by many travelers. Perhaps somebody else is paying for their gas?

Meanwhile down at Murphy's -
Here I am pumping Regular at $4.429.
