Bought a new S&W AR15r at a Georgia gun show in 2009 by mistake, thinking it was a 223. Been siting in the safe since 2009, it has never had a round chambered. What do you guy think the current selling price for this rifle with case and docs?

If it's a 5.56 or .223 Wylde chambered, you can shoot .223 or 5.56 out of it.
If it's not a 5.56, then what caliber is it?

A number of ways you can go.
Sell the whole rifle for about $900, sell the upper for $500 and use the money to buy a 5.56 upper, or just swap out the barrel since that's all you need to do to make it a 5.56, uses the same bolt/carrier.
Or, just get the Ammo and shoot it, the 5.45 is a great little round, if you get the 7n6 Ammo it's devastating as a home defense caliber, plus cheaper to shoot than 5.56.
The other nice thing is ammo is still available most on line places unlike 223/5.56.

Thanks, for the replies...I'm just looking for a fair sale price. I have acquired other AR rifles & really don't need this any longer. Since these 5.45 rifles are discontinued, Hopefully, a collector will be interested.
