so, i did the 15 min trigger job. took it out to the range. 500 rounds no problem. no fte/ftf.
...........BUT bolt wont stay open after the last round! it cycles coz when i pull the trigger the hammer still goes(after the last round)
anyone else experienced this? any advice? thanks in advance.

check 2 things

!st what ammo are you using... is it hot enought to full cycle the bolt.. just because the gun fires andfeeds doesnt mean that the bolt is fully cycling...

and second check you mag and bolt stop for damage... the mag "stem" applies the pressre needed to trip the bolt latch if its damaged it will not operate...

so basicly my suggestion is the first rule of a firearm problem
Clean the weapon really good and check for damage to the effected parts

let us knw what you find

i was using the same ammo before i did the trigger job and the bolt stays open every after the last shot. (federal bulk pack)
Ill strip/clean it then ill post up what i can find. Thanks

The part that holds the bolt open is the part I have the red arrow pointing at (Bolt Release). When a mag is inserted it actually pushes that part up, so make sure that your mag is doing that. The part on in the mag that presses the bolt release up is the Red (or sometimes blue) platic tab that sticks out so check that too (Blue arrow in pic). The trigger group has no affect on the bolt being held open, its all in the bolt release mechanism.

I have the same problem every once in a while. I took the bolt release lever out of the rifle, made sure there were no burrs polished everything. Cleaned it all, lubed and assembled and still there are intermittent problems. It might be the first gen mags.
