Problem free Bodyguard 380 ???

I went to a local gun show today and looked at all of the BG380's that were on display. The highest serial number I saw today was EAA98xx, so I am guessing that there is at least 10,000 of the BG380 out there possibly more. I hope this helps. God Bless :)

What prices are you seeing at Gun Show?
I'm hoping to find one soon here in FL.

I was at my local Academy store today and they had one ..lol...I couldn't resist...wish me luck ! Has a 95xx Serial Number series

serial number EAA51xx

100 rounds.
4 no fires. pin hit the primer.
1 jam. That jam ended my day. Screw to the laser came out it seems.
also having problems with the laser buttons

so as of now. Not problem free.

Just returned from the range and

Put 150 rounds thru my BG and not a misfire. This now makes about 300 rounds thru it without a problem. As a point all the ammo I use is made by USA AMMO and is their reloads.

I have only put 100 round through mine but I haven't had any problems at all with it in doing so. I do wish the trigger was a little bit better though would be my only complaint

Forgot to ask. Is there anyone working on night sights for them yet or is there already some out there? Thanks

PittShooter,

What pancake holster are you using?

Sorry Goffman I missed your question in this thread. I have a First Amendment pancake - Sportsmans Guide cheapie for about $20. It's a universal type fit.

BG fits fairly well, it is a little on the big side so the BG sits a little deep in it. I don't know if I would recommend it for more than the occasional carry because of that. I've used it hiking a few times as an OWB and it's worked fine.

Thanks for the follow-up, Pittshooter.

very happy with my BG380,

Purchased 14 days ago, serial # EAA21**

Taken once to range, fired three brands of fmj, about 75 rounds and only 12 rounds of Golden Saber 102g hp, it was 100% no hiccups.

Super slim, very light, and the broken laser switch on left side no big deal, great addition to my M&P9c.

I love the gun so far, for the size and weight, I can't think of a better made pistol, again for the size.

the left side laser switch does not work, i am right handed so no big deal, plan to send back the laser only, if s&w would accept it, without having to send the whole gun back.

Now when is Crossbreed going to make a minituck for it?

Vbvaguy where did you get the additional magazines. I looked on S&Ws site and none are shown. I emailed them and the answer was not available at this time.

Hello everybody. Finding a lot of good info on this site from actual experience with this gun and not just advertising. I picked up my BG 380 yesterday (& ankle holster "Uncle Mike" size 10).

Mine came only with one grey rubber button (laser activation). The other one must have fallen out when they packed it (my fault for not taking it out after the dealer got the box from the back).

I haven't fired a single shot yet, but I now wish that I had found this site before I purchased the gun. Even if it fires after 300 or 500 rounds, I would not feel comfortable carrying this gun what it was made for; self-defense. At this point, it seems as if it is much more likely to fail abruptly than any other .380 out there. Is that just my perception?

I also read on of this site's threads, that S&W had a lifetime warranty. My manual states:

LIMITED WARRANTY , Quote: "Smith & Wesson firearms are warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship. Any such defects of which Smith & Wesson receives written notice within one year from the date of purchase by the original owner , will be remedied by Smith & Wesson without charge within reasonable time..." end of quote.
Is there perhaps a way to obtain a lifetime warranty from S&W on this gun? I really like the way it feels and the size and features of it. Now I can just pray that it works (and keeps working).

What are the first five digits of the serial # on your pistol?

I can no longer count my Bodyguard among those that are trouble-free. This morning I took it out to the range to up the round count since I haven't shot it very much since buying it. After about 15-20 rounds the takedown lever started coming out and on several occasions the trigger wouldn't reset. Glad to hear S&W has found a cure for these problems-will be giving them a call in the AM. Overall I didn't have 50 rounds total before the problems began. S/N EAA 0041.

Took the BG out this afternoon with my new rifle I got this morning.

wasn't able to go through 20 rounds till the take down pin came out. reinstalled it. was unable to get 8 more rounds though it without it backing out again.

Looks like I am calling S&W again tomorrow :(

I may just steal my Wifes LCP she doesn't use
