Well I'm always careful to only have one powder on the bench at a time, OK. But this time I was loading some .45 Auto rim intending to use 185 gr SWC but also had a carton of 230 gr LaserCast RN bullets and accidently loaded those on top of 7.0 gr Unique which was my intended load for the 185 gr.

The question now is-- is this too hot a load for a Model 25-2? Fortunately I only loaded 50 rounds. Feel free to chime in.

My Lyman third edition shows 6.6 max with auto rim --but 7.3 max with acp with a 225 cast. I would think they hold the same volume but never measured.

If your bullet is similar to the Lyman 220-230 RN, bearing length is approximately the same, and you're seating to an OAL of about 1.27" and not significantly less, you'll likely be okay with your loads.

That's right, modern 45ACP & 45AR cases are essentially identical, volume wise.

Starline 45ACP holds 27.3gr/H²O while their 45 Auto Rim brass holds 27.4gr/H²O.

The SAAMI max pressure for 45AR is only 15K CUP (no PSI standard established) while the 45ACP is 18K CUP so any component provider's reloading guide will observe that lower limit with lower charge weights.

Starline 45AR is plenty strong & can be loaded to 45 Super pressures in an appropriate revolver.

.

Shouldn't have any problem. For a long time, my standard load in the 25-2 was 7.0gr Unique with the Keith 452423 which with my alloy was 240grs. No pressure signs, easy extraction, and quite accurate.

Should be good but I make a habit of not feeding mistakes into my expensive handguns . Might work this time and ruin a gun next time you mess up and decide to shoot your mistake that everybody says is alright. I'd pull them and re do them as I originally intended to , it's only 50 rounds.
