Anyone have problems getting Hogue to complete an order for wooden grips without problems?

I have had problems with nearly every order for wood grips I have placed with them over the years. I would never spend another nickle with them, except that I like their product. (laminate finger groove grip with fancy striped end cap)

The orders take forever, they never update the order status on the website, and each time I call or e-mail I get a different story.

The latest dilema has a grip order for an N-Frame in "limbo". After two months and no word, I inquired about the order only to be told the order somehow was overlooked and would be processed immediately... still waiting, weeks later, recently I was told it was definetely going to ship on a certain date, and how sorry they were for the mix up, a week after the certain ship date and nothing. Called again and was told the grip was backordered...

I think I'm being B.S.'d a bit here!

Any similar experiences dealing with Hogue out there?

My son and I both had problems with their wood grips. His split into 2 pieces while we were shooting at the range and. He sent them to Hogue and they wouldn't replace them. I had a problem with the fit on an N frame Smith........no real help from Hogue.

Hmmmmmm quite the bummer!

I have had nothing but great experiences with Hogue, although I do recall that a couple of years ago they were very back-logged and it took them awhile to get the orders out, but they were upfront and stated so when the orders were placed.

I even sent a stock back to have them stipple it since the smooth stocks were not very 'gripp-able'. Turn around was about two weeks.

Sorry, but they have been stellar for me.

They closed up awhile back and went to Haiti to help the earthquake victims. They probably returned to backed up orders. I read one of their employees was from Haiti.

I have Hogue grips on many many of my revolvers, and never had a problem with the grips, or the ordering prosses.
When I call and order, I speek with Aimee, one fine lady to work with.
Hogue just finished a set of grips for me made out of Cordia wood that I sent them.
I might be the only Hogue Cordia grip owner so far:cool:

If you want wood grips on a hard recoiling gun I would think laminated grips would be the strongest. I love the cheap rubber Hogue grips, they fit my hand perfectly.

Hogue service

I had never bought a set of Hogue grips until recently when I found a NIB rubber grip to try on my 4566. I bought it at a gun show from a parts seller-he got the old package from a sporting goods shop that closed years ago. When I got home it was lacking one screw. I emailed Hogue trying to buy a single screw. No response for a couple of days, then I called, on a Friday. The lady who took my call did not even want to know the circumstances, just said they would send out a new screw immediately, and no charge. Got the package in the mail the next Wednesday, not only the screw but the whole mainspring retainer and 2 screws.

I ordered a set recently, it had been a about three weeks, so sent an e-mail. Aimee answered and said it would be about May 1st, and offered to send a pair from different wood that was in stock.

So far so good.
