Good day Forum Members --=--

I am attempting to identify the product code for a S&W 629-6. I have a Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson, Edition 3, but cannot locate this exact model.
Smith & Wesson 629-6
Rubber Hogue Stocks
7.5" Barrel with integral scope rail and adjustable weights.
Black iron sights with an orange front insert.
Labeled "Performance Center" on left. 44 Magnum on right.
Non-Fluted Cylinder, Non-Ported.
Smooth satin finish with a portion of the shiny slab side about .375" wide.
Envelope containing the single fired case from original aluminum box shows a 2002 date.
Has the cylinder lock.
Serial number: MBRxxxx
I suspect that it is product code 170219 (Big Rock), but cannot verify.
Any help from the expert board here would be appreciated as I am trying to sell and have this question.

It may be product code 170171 Stealth Hunter 2000. That's the closest I can come in the 4th ed. from what you've come up with. Was unable to find the MBR prefix anywhere. If you really want to know, letter it. If you have the original box for it, post a picture of the label and someone will come up with an answer for you.

I just checked in my 4th edition SCSW and found the same thing. Most of the weighted barrel PC 629 Competitors are 6" barrels and fluted cylinders. Hopefully someone that owns one like yours will chime in. If not, try calling S&W customer service with your serial number. They should have it.

Thank you Gents for the input so far.

Old Chief --=-- I do not have the original brown box (I assume), only the aluminum box, which has no sticker on it (darn it).

I guess that I will try calling S&W this week if no one here has any more insight.

Thanks All!

Good luck Mike, let us know if you're successful. After thought - Maybe a local dealer can help you out, they normally have all types of references.
