Proper PC 845/4506 Recoil Spring?

Recently started shooting Wolf 230 gr. JRN because that is what I could get. When cleaning my gun I noticed I was still using the 7" light recoil spring. Gun functioned great but should I be using the stronger/longer recoil spring? Thanks

I usually watch how far it throws my spent brass. If it's going 6' or more then I go with a heavier spring. Guns will most always function with too light of a spring, unlike getting too heavy of one.
