Proper Stocks for My Model 1902

Keith Brown is the only person that could reproduce an early set of stocks like this.
Please show me an example of ANY reproduction stocks that have ever been made like these. ( his would look nicer than these factory stocks)
TIA

I never said they weren't nice. They are, but, IMHO, reproductions.

That's a good comparison pistol, mrcvs (second pic down). I also pulled up some pics (not the best) of my S&W 1899 made in 1901. Basically the same grips with the exception of the inspectors marks.

OP's pistol.

A beautiful set, kscharlie. I'm not convinced either way, but I'm leaning towards reproductions or refinished. If reproductions, they are very well done. Either way, they are very nice and complement your pistol. Thanks for posting.

I believe the OP's grips are probably Factory, but I believe they are refinished. The color is not quite right. Compare the color to the known Factory grips in this thread.
They remind me of the slightly reddish hue that DWFAN's work had. ;)

I don't think I reworked them but I did a number of similar sets. I believe mine would have been less clean on the backside. They appear in the photos to be nicely reworked, all those in the thread appear reworked to me with the exception of the examples in post 22 after the pic of the OPs panel. Its just my opinion though but I was mentioned so I thought id chime in.

I have a model 38 M&P 1902 shipped 1903 but it has modern day large square but target grips that are similar to the current model 41 22 LR with the thumb rest.

I have a couple of model 1905 38 M&P shipped circa 1926 4th change I believe all original grips. They are square butt as well. No offense, but I can't stand the look of a round butt. Reminds me of a hunched over dog with it's tail between it's leg's. But that's just me.

I'm glad you don't like round butt revolvers. Leaves more for those of us who DO like them! :)

As I recall, the addition of the 4 line address to guns predating the use of same was a practice of the Service Department----right up until the good Dr. Jinks learned of it-----and put a stop to it---and good for him!
