Prostate issues- Update at #24

Let me say that you have a high chance of a good outcome and I pray that all goes very well, some of the older gentlemen do not bother treating and do fine.

been there , done that , got the scars to prove it.

DiVinci Robotics system , complete removal.
approaching 10 years.

follow the DRs orders, bend a knee at church if thats your thing.

todays technology and medicines are incredible , trust the process and trust the good Lord.

Best wishes my friend!

Treatment completed! Now the recovery. The healing process will take several months. The fatigue and muscle weakness is the worse. Sleep is at a premium. The treatment is said to be very successful, but it will be several months before I know for sure. But I will persevere.
Thanks for all your prayers and well wishes.

I chose surgery after talking to as many people who were willing to take the time to talk.
Radiation is effective, but...
that being, the tissue that's been irradiated becomes tough as shoe leather, so if, in the future, surgery was necessary, It 'could' be a complicating factor.
The DaVinci robotic surgery was minimally invasive, and the recovery time was negligible. Incontinence, often a side effect, is manageable. do the exercises. ED often goes away.
Knowing how aggressive the cancer type is important, and plays a big part in deciding which route to go.
Truth is, if every old man who dies had an autopsy, a significant percentage may have had prostate cancer, and never knew it.
Best of luck.
FWIW, prayer works!
