One from my collection of Single Actions...

This Colt is one of the few that have left the factory with a assigned prototype number. The design engineer that had the gun built was allowed to buy it prior to his retirement. This particular Colt SA has some very unusual features. Notice that there is a barrel rib on it. And a ramp front sight. The rear sight is similiar to a Elliason sight used in a Colt 1911. The top strap is highly beveled to allow the transition to the barrel ramp. Forward of the bottom of the triggerguard, the gun is squared off instead of rounded. The grips on the gun were a type that was being tested at the time, but never incorporated by Colt. The basepin release has a Rampant Colt engraved on one side. The gun is finished in the original Colt case coloring.

There's more, but that's enough...;)

Truly a one of a kind Colt!

Thanks for posting. That's a really nice acquisition.
I wouldn't want it though since I can't get Pachmayrs (sp?) to fit. :D
It's a very beautiful gun.

That is a nice piece, no matter what your primary persuasion is. Should be a great shooter.Looks like the fit and finish got a little extra effort. Nice gun, enjoy !!
