Since I have my Hogue Kingwood grip on order i was wondering how well the wood holds up if you get a little solvent like MPro7 or Hoppes on it while cleaning the gun?

What precautions should I take while cleaning/care on the wood grip without removing it while I clean the gun?

Any opinions are appreciated.

Thanks Guys.

I agree, a fine first revolver! The L frame is perhaps the best platform S&W has for the .357 Mag. I have the blued twin to yours in my 586 plus in four inch and its a real shooter!

I picked up my 686P 4" the day after Christmas and I love it! My 1st Smith & Wesson and my 1st revolver. Very impressed with everything. S&W found a new customer, for life!

Congrats! I have quite a few revolvers now but just picked up my first 4" 686 last week. It is a 686-4+ and I am looking forward to putting some rounds downrange.

Enjoy owning one of the finest revolvers made!

My next gun.
