I thought I could get away without using one. Being the klutz that I am, you'd think I'd have known better.

Note to self: Don't do that again!

Someone probably advised you to use a phone protector when you bought your first phone! You should have paid attention.:D

I have used an "Otter Box" on all the phones I have had over the past 25 years or so. I have dropped them from as high as my lap seated in my 4WD onto concrete several times and have never had any damage to any of the phones. I highly recommend the Otter Box!:)

The Otter Box is probably the most expensive of all available protectors, but it has proven to be well worth the cost numerous times. My phones have not left the store without being protected first.

I am a non-believer in product insurance but when I bought a phone one generation back, there weren't any protectors yet available so I opted to get the insurance. Sure enough, the second day I had it, I dropped it on a tile floor and ceramic being what it is, the phone lost. Verizon replaced it and as soon as a protector hit the market, I owned one and cancelled the insurance. Learning a lesson from that, I now take out the insurance for the first couple of months regardless of whether a case is available.

Other lessons learned: When working on cars, take the phone out of your pocket and put it some place near by but safe. When working or near the water, such as on boats or installing/removing docks, leave the phone ashore.

I didn't realize it but my Otter box had a lifetime warranty . The plastic frame cracked near the charging port . I filed a warranty claim online and they sent me a new one .

Our Ipads and iPhones have cases and screen protectors. I break my screen protectors by dropping my phone with some regularity. Just stick a new one on.

I've got more tape than glass on my phone, still works though ! However, my wall phone is still in perfect condition !!

Have used otter box since they became available.was changing oil on my tractor, had phone sitting on rear wheel, forgot about it and took off.ran over phone and not a scratch

Used an Otterbox for a long time until I found Spigen Cases (Amazon) - like it better and adds very little bulk. Only difference (some may see it as a down side but I don't) is you have to use a glass cover with one which is sold separately by many different companies - the type that goes on by contact adhesion on a clean glass. I get them in packs of three and seldom ever have to change one but they take the hit the screens usually do and are easily and fairly cheaply replaceable.

Yes, my wife and the salesman both did.

So I got one. It was on my phone for a long time, until recently. I was having problems with my phone not charging, so my wife took it off the phone to try to replace the battery. It turned out it was just the cable I was using. But I liked the way it handled without the protector, so I left it off. Big mistake!

My son bought the first I phone that came out.He did not by a case for it.A week later he dropped it down the stairs in his barracks. He bought another one and I set him a otter box. When he got hurt in Iraq it was the only piece of equipment to make it back with him.
