PSA: Before you rush out to "upgrade" to a Shield PLUS...

I inherited my Shield. I believe it's from 2016. It has the 3.125 barrel. It came with Two Eight round mags and a Seven round. With the Two Eight Round mags and a 442 in my pocket with a speed strip, I don't feel a need for the Plus.

easier to just sell the shield and buy a shield plus. Sold my shield gen 1 for almost $400, paid $465 (including ffl fee) for my shield plus. Not worth dicking around with magguts or $130 trigger jobs to try and make your original gun something it's not.

I ain't buying any of the new ones with the "swinging dingus" in the trigger' I hate those style triggers.......Might as well buy a block if you like such.
Glad I got my 3 Shields 9-40-45 with the ORIGINAL trigger.

Have you tried one? The whole front of the trigger is the dingus. You don't feel that protrusion in the center like you do on Glocks. As a Glock fan, the Shield Plus trigger is wonderful. It's much better then the original Shield hinged trigger, IMO. Other then my M&P .22 compact it's the only S&W that has interested me in a long time. Now I may consider one of the full-size M&P's with the new trigger.

I own or owned all the micro-nines and the Shield Plus is the only one that basically retired my G43's.
