If you or a loved one suffer a urinary tract infection, see a urologist, not a generalist. Some serious problems appear as infections and are typically treated as infections by generalist doctors without the skill and equipment to look further.

I had a UTI diagnosed twice in the past 18 months by a generalist physician. I sought a specialist after the second diagnosis, and a tennis ball sized bladder cancer was found. It was removed today.

Y'all be well. :)

Lady, I HEAR ya! My tumor was "only 30mm", and by God, YOU know just exactly where they take them out, don't you?!
I had a darn garden hose stuck in there for two days afterwards in case there was clots or anything... Man, I am getting sick just remembering that.
On a side note, I just passed my first six month screening (after three years of three month checks), one more clean screening and I can go to a yearly cystoscopy. (If you don't know about those yet, you will...)

Good luck with yours! Prayers sent for clean screens with no recurrences!

Thanks, yeah, the procedure left me feelin mean I'll tell ya.

Lookin forward to losing the new handbag they attached also, and making it to annual checkups like I am with my lung cancer.

Be well.

BigWheel, you know that we all love your great posts here, especially your adventures around the world!!...I admit this news hit me hard. Takes me back to 2012, when I was told that I had a big tumor on my stomach. The good news is that that was over 6 years ago, and I'm still typing on this iPad.

I'm sure that I speak for many others here in that we will be praying for a complete and rapid recovery.

Edit, just read the last two posts...I started out with 3 mo checkups, after a year I went to 6 mo checks, and for the last 4 years, have been on annual checks.

PS... Take care of yourself...after all, we've known you since you were a little girl back in Brooklyn!!

Best Regards, Les
