Here's an update you may enjoy. Anyone who has kept on on this thread will know I'm planning on buying from a private owner, and need to get a permit to do so. Well,
after some running around , and making a few phone calls. I was talking with a lady on the phone from the records dept. I told her what I needed and she talked about filling out some forms and so forth . Then the 64 dollar question... Do you have a cpl ? Why yes I do. Then silence ! Oh **** ... I never thought to ask , and nobody ever brought it up. LOL ! I have been humbled . Anyway. Problem resolved. Just go down to the police Dept. and they have them behind the counter . Oh well... ever superman has a bad day, and I'm not very smart, but I can lift heavy things. That's my two cents.

Don't know where you live but here in Central N C all I would do is to run a copy of my CCP on the copy machine and write in down below it the agreement between us i.e. the reciept showing how much paid and both signatures and have copies for both of us and that would do it.

Here in Virginia, our purchase permits are green and have pictures of dead Presidents on them. No other paperwork required.
