Purchased a S&W sd9ve

Welcome to the world of SD9VE owners. I just bought one for myself a couple weeks ago. It's quite the handgun. The trigger may take some getting used to; it has for me.

Enjoy.

Congrats on the purchase! I have over 1200 rounds on mine with no failures. So far it has shot every brand of ammo I have tried.

Congrats! I am well over 5k on the rounds. It breaks in nicely. No Need to modify. You will enjoy!

Those are nice pistols and you got it for a good price. Two or three years ago, they were selling for $315 and I thought that was a good price.

Congrats - and welcome aboard. SD pistols are reliable and a great value for the money.

Lots of good data about them here on the forum. Noteworthy are the couple of fairly recent threads about adding aftermarket recoil spring assemblies. At the current time, the consensus (which isn't reflected in earlier threads) is that it would be wise to hold off on adding an aftermarket recoil spring assembly for now, as there is concern they are not compatible with the pistol frame over the long run. The good news is that no one really needs one; it is mostly an item that people have added out of personal preference.

Good gun I have the 9 and 40.I also have a Si
gma and like that I really don't find much difference with the sd9ve and the Sigma 9 trigger.

I own the Sigma SW9VE and the SW40VE. I just recently added the SD9VE.
To the SD9VE, I added a new rear M&P factory sight, a Galloway wide take down bar, and a Galloway/Glock G19 stainless steel 20# guide rod.
All of them eat ANY kind of ammo I feed them!

Welcome to the forum !! Congrats on your purchase. The sdve series is very "mod-able" ! You may or may not need to do anything to this pistol, it's pretty good right out of the box. While not a target pistol, I believe you'll find it more than acceptably accurate for it's intended use, Self Defense. While it doesn't enjoy the aftermarket supply many other guns enjoy, there's still quite a good selection of gear from quality vendors to meet your needs !! I sure do like mine !! Happy shooting !!!

I just bought one and have racked it less than 50 times shot 15

Anybody have this issue?

Are you talking about the rub lines on the top and the side? If so, every semiauto I have with the same barrel and slide configuration has that. It is perfectly normal.

I just double checked my Springfield Armory and Canik pistols. They all have those wear marks as well. Perfectly normal.

I got mine about a year ago and have put about 1000 rounds through it.
The only problem i've had was it jammed two times. It's a great gun.
Mines got the same ware that you have. I only noticed it after i saw the picture that you posted.

Congrat, just sold mine to a friend in Michigan at a fair price
