Awesome!!! This will give us time to organize the IL-NRA and more time to contact all of our representatives. I would really like to see a more concise petition form put out by the NRA. We will continue to fight!

So basically, he's saying that he doesn't respect or believe in our 2nd amendment rights, and they haven't voted him out for the past 10 years. So much for upholding the constitution or anything of that nature.
Yet another reason to exercise your right to VOTE.
Of course, this is the same city that re-elected Rod Blagojevich for his 2nd term (and he already had had a quite colorful first term). I say this because "downstate" sure didn't vote for him.
The proposal, which has the backing of Gov. Pat Quinn, would have restricted the possession, delivery, sale and transfer of semiautomatic weapons, including handguns and rifles.
And yet again, another anti-gun governor. Quinn would love nothing more than to sign some giant sweeping gun control legislation that makes the Chicago handgun ban pale in comparison.
He said he will re-introduce a bill in hopes of getting the measure through the General Assembly in the spring. And, he said he is considering a compromise that wouldn’t ban as many types of guns.
“We’re willing to negotiate somewhat,” Acevedo said.
No means no. I love this whole "well... instead of only taking your leg off, we'll just take your foot -- how can you argue with that!?" mentality. Disgusting.
Typical Illinois politicians dodging the real issues -- pension reform and the fact the state is bankrupt.

one small victory but that fight is far from over. Be assured to that they will be trying to figure out any back door deals they can use to their advantage to get more votes. Their is so much corruption in government and especially IL that you know that they will do whatever under handed illegal thing they can to gain any advantage. I encourage all of you out there to keep up the fight and keep spreading the word.

the senate vote is delayed but its going to the house i believe next week... trying to back door it...
It was in the house today and got shelved. I spent a lot of the afternoon following the circus show.

As was shown in the video the House pulled the bill and is not going to humor this trash, at least not till the new state government combines, in which case they will have to start all over again!
Now more than ever we need to keep the pressure in our congressmen and representative! The boots were on the ground this time and voices were heard this time! We must continue to drown out Those who would suppress our zeal for freedom and the rights given to us by our forefathers!
Let the fight contiue! The price of freedom is eternal vigilance, and I will gladly stand with you on the frontlines!
