Put another CZ 452 "Military Trainer" on layaway, (pics)...

I bought a CZ 452 "Military Trainer" about a year ago, since then I have put about 6000 rounds through it in practice and competition. It is without a doubt the most accurate .22 rifle I have ever owned. The sights are well regulated, you want to hit a target at 100 yards, put the sights on "125" meters and the target is yours! I have won several CMP Rimfire Sporter matches with it, and plan to win more...

Now I hear CZ is discontinuing the CZ452 line, so I went out today and put another CZ 452 Military Trainer on layaway, 20% down, three months to pay...

The first one I bought was $380 out the door, this one is $380 plus tax and fees, $406 out the door.
I'll keep this one in "Deep Shelter" until I wear the first one out.

Now I should have a lifetimes worth of CZ target rifles.

I also own a very nice used CZ 452 "American" with a cheap Simmons 4X scope, I plan to upgrade the scope in the near future. It is capable of dime sized groups at 50 yards, with the proper scope I think I can shrink the group size down to one hole groups. The last 50 yard Benchrest Match I attended, I beat an 80 year old woman with a scoped Winchester Model 52, came in next to last, beating only the elderly woman . That old woman is going down! Seriously there was some stiff competition, lots of Anschutz and Winchester target rifles.

I agree the 452 CZ's are what's happening. I bought a CZ452 American this year and it shoots great. I put a 4.5-14 Mueller scope on it. Great combo. Don

I'm in love with the CZ Trainers too. Have one each 22LR and 22Mag. I wish they were not being discontinued. Great rifles.

Do you shoot your matches with iron sights? I agree that the sights are great - a wonderful feature of this rifle. I have scoped both of mine. The eyes are not what they once were. Still, I'd love to have one with just iron sights. Maybe I need a layaway.

Another ++ for the 452

We shoot several types of bench rest matches at our range and I shot my first match this year and had a ball. These are club level matches, bragging rights only.

I now have a:
CZ 452 Varmint
Savage 12VRMT in .243
And a Kimber M-84 LPT in .308.

I'm looking at better scopes now.

CZ makes great rifles, I'm sorry I didn't jump on this sooner.

Those CZs are great rifles and they will multiply when your not looking.

Currently I have an 452FS with a Leupold 2x7 full size rifle scope on it, a 452 Varmint w/ a Leupold 3x9 rimfire scope and a 452 Lux with iron sights. All three are extremely accurate.

The 550 in 6.5 Swede is an awesome rifle as is the 527 in 7.62x39.

Yes, I use the 452 Trainer with iron sights for the CMP Rimfire Sporter Matches, shot at 50 and 25 yards, prone, sitting and offhand (standing) positions. You can use a scoped rifle, but they compete seperately from the iron sighted rifles.

The 452 American I use for benchrest matches, but I need a better scope to be competitive.

Yes, the rifle is the Military Trainer, they look exactly like the 452 Lux except the trainer has a beech stock, the Lux has a turkish walnut stock. I looked at the Lux today, but there is little difference in the quality of the wood, and the Lux is $60 more....
