OK it was refinsished (by somebody who did a real good job, no plum colors) but otherwise its super a clean 1917 #565xx
lanyard swivel has been plugged (nice job) but the price was extra good ($400) considering this the PRK and dealer also had some 1917 brazillians that looked they came from the bottom of a pond for a few hundred more. anyway, lockup is good and the DA/ SA pull is really nice. I bought it as a shooter and i cant get any other N farm these days for that price

where can i get 1/2 moon and full moon clips ?

anybody know where i can get a decent set of wood period style grips for this? it has pachys on it now.

Anybody but georgia-arms sell decent .45 AR ?

thanks
Tim

Where'd you find it locally?

For clips, grips:
Numrichs'
Midway
Cabela's
Brownells
Cheaper than Dirt

Or try searching 'moon clips' on Google shopping.

I know that gungrips.com has walnut repro's for $65, and a few other custom makers offer them, also.

Original ones are hard(ish) to find (ask me why I know). Just keep looking - gun shows may be a good bet if you have any around you. I don't see them often here or on auction sites, but occasionally they come up. Good luck. Sounds nice. I'd prefer to have a lanyard swivel, but if it looks sharp, I'd probably pay $400 for a nicely refinished one.

Numeric Arms had half moon clips, last time I checked. What is PRK? Personally, I like the Brazilians better, I think they have better sights but, to each his own?

how tough would it be to put a lanyard swivel back on ? i dont have possesion yet so i cant inspect right now but when i took the rubber grips off at the shop it looked like a screw had been put in and then ground down before the refinsh.

I got some Black Hills 255 gr. .45 AR from Midway a few months back. Shot clean enough but, oddly, didn't group as well as hardball in my converted .455 HE 2nd. Your mileage may vary.

Other accessories for a 1917 that would be cool would be a lanyard loop, cavalry holster, and a horse and saddle. That would be cool.

I forgot bout this post...well i picked this thing up earleir this summer and got some nice grips off fleabay, perid style with medalions. got some moonclips and tool off gone broker.

shoots real nice. groups decently with ball ammo. single action let off must only be a few ounces. one of these days i will figure out how to post pics.

i highly reccommend everybody get at least one 1917

Why stop with one? They are like cats, you can't have just one

You might want to add an "ammo pouch" to your list..
