My friendly local bank account drainer- AKA "Gun Shop"- emailed me that he had a special S&W he thought I'd enjoy seeing. A regional gunsmith buys as new stainless guns, takes them down the entire way and does truly beautiful high polish finishes. I previously examined a Ruger GP-100 he had worked over and it was as beautiful as the Colt Python high polish stainless. I just wasn't willing to pay a premium for a Ruger GP-100.
Once I looked over this 66-4 I just had to have it! Traded in three oddballs from my safe on it, as I didn't have the liquid funds. Replaced the factory rubber grips with a set of Altamont super walnut S&W logo grips from my collection. I believe it will end up getting Ahrends cocbolo boot grips later on. Now, the question is-can I bring myself to dirty it up by shooting??
