QD Sling Attach

Not without modification to the rifle. There have been several threads on this in the past - I can't recall exactly what's needed. Midwest Industries makes the version you want if you must attach there. It's called the MCTAR30.

The one the OP mentioned slides over the receiver extension just like the midwest industries QD mount, so it states in the product description anyway. I have no personal experience with the troy ind. QD mount though.

So does Daniel Defense's version, but the MI is the only one that fits the 15-22. I wish I could remember why - it was a couple years ago when I was playing with these. There is a small difference between them - maybe someone else can chime in and remind me of what it is.

I just found an old thread that mentions the troy ind. QD mount. It looks like you have to mod the receiver extension for the screw to have clearance.

You can't go wrong with the MI mount, that's what I have on one of my 15-22's.

I must be confused.

RedneckJim and others, Why are you suggesting a handguard rail attachment as a substitute for what the OP is asking about?

What he is looking at can be used for a single point sling or a rear attachment for a two point sling. Suggest he use a handguard rail mount instead?

Nothing to get confused about. I simply suggested a different, simpler alternative for using a QD. From what I understand, what the OP wants can be difficult. What I use is simple.

I actually mount one of these on opposite sides of the rail, since I shoot left handed. That way a right handed shooter can simply move the sling to the other side.

If this doesn't suit the OP's needs... he can ignore.

I don't know Jim... Unless he has a rail on the buttstock (some do), it makes no sense as an alternative to the receiver extension mount he is looking at. Suggesting a handgaurd rail mount as an alternative to a reciever extension mount makes as much sense to me as suggesting a flash hider as an alternative to a barrel nut because both thread onto the barrel. :D

The first two photos are typically how the mount he is looking at is used.

Single point

Two point

And this is what is would look like if we used a handgaurd rail mount as an alternative to the end plate.... muzzle pointing at your head while carrying. :D

This of course would be just using the buttstock instead of the end plate.

I thought that part went on the barrel.

Ok, I see what you were thinking. Sure, if that were the case I would have suggested the same as you.

What the OP is looking at clamps onto the receiver extension tube. Unlike the the QD end plate in the above photos there is no end plate on a 1522, so some guys with with 1522s who want an attachment point there use a clamp system.
