Hi:
My Agency used B-29 targets for qualifications.
Today I was in a new Gun Shop to purchase small pistol primers.
I observed a huge B-27 target that I was informed that Law Enforcement and Military had been using for the last 30 years ?
This B-27 target was much larger than I recall. The round "X" ring was approx. 6-9 inch in diameter. One of the counter clerks was over six foot tall and very wide in the body, and this target was his size !
Is this the "New" B-27 targets ??

Thanks,
Jimmy

We used the B-27 for years and went to the FBI Q target in the 90s. Most preferred qualifying with the Q since you count the hits, not a total number score. It also seems to be a more practical form of qualification.

The center oval of the B-27 target is 2"x3" and harder to hit than many think. Yes, the B-27 looks big, but it's about the size of a normal man. The paper is about 22" x 32".

We used the FBI Q Target, which I prefer.
The "bottle" of the FBI-Q target is roughly the same height as a B-27 silhouette, but more narrow. I've just started using this target for my CCW classes:

The center rings are the same size as a B-27.

Here's an FBI-Q superimposed on a B-27E:

The B-29 is a reduced B-27.

Practice with the smallest target you can find. When you have to qualify,
it will seem huge and you're groups will be smaller, since you are used to
shooting a smaller target!

I have heard that in the field of "political correctness" there is an effort to do away with targets shaped like the human torso. The new recruits at police departments are complaining about the human shaped targets. I guess a law will have to be passed where all criminals will be required to wear a shirt or vest with a bullseye target printed on them!
