People tend to relate accuracy with a revolver to bullet design / powder etc . Yet there is the factors of cylinder throats being too small and barrel choke , tight spot where the barrel threads onto the frame . These factors affect accuracy more than most realize . Do you have to pay $4K for a revolver with correct dimensions internally , NO ! Last year I purchased one of the new Colt Pythons and none of the above factors were evident . It was as it should be , cylinder throats sized correctly and NO choke where the barrel threaded onto the frame . Most of my S&W revolvers have had one or both of the mentioned problem areas . I opened up the cylinder throats to the proper size , some required " fire lapping " the barrel . The end result was a substantial improvement in accuracy / no more leading the barrel from cast bullets . This has been my experience , yours may be different . Regards , Paul
