Quality Training or Stupidity?

Some Russian units do train like that but very few and those that do are selected from the best. And there is a point to it.....for them. These guys are probably just copying what they saw

Think there are several of these so called Russian live fire training video's .. I've seen a couple .. None of them seem up to our safety standards ..

The Russians are Asian/Eastern people so...they hold life to a different standard then we do.

And if I was in training and some fool was shooting at me I'd be moving double time! I suppose it really cuts out the dummies quick

YES. That looks like a great quality training technique to train for stupidity.

Are you sure that was not an outtake scene from Forrest Gump?

An example of machoism taken to the terminally stupid level. Those types of guys make usable 'shock' troops, but don't expect them to last long.....

Dangerous maybe but I can see wanting to be able to pull that off if someone grabbed a loved one. Probably wouldn't train with a live person though. That close I think it wouldn't be all that difficult to do. Might try it sometime.......with two dummies.

Even is the guy is a GREAT shooter...

..that is too much in the proximity of the 'oops' zone. And an oops could very well be from serious to fatal. I've seen some of these things go bad wrong and it's not worth it.

Once I saw a guy hold a block in his teeth while a guy with what seemed to be a .22 short rifle shot a bullet into a hole drilled in the block. He was trying to put up a brave face until the camera was off of him but he was crying and his mouth was a bloody mess.

Another guy did a kung fu fire trick breaking a pile of blocks doused in lighter fluid. He put on a brave face but until he put his hand behind his back you could see a piece of skin the size of your palm hanging off his hand like it was melted.

I think that's the right answer.

In the US, if you missed and killed the "hostage", you'd be hard pressed to just call it an "accident", given the obvious reckless or negligent intent that would be present in the exercise.

Which means you'd probably be facing an involuntary manslaughter charge, and with the level of "stupid" presented, and a death involved, it's not likely that a prosecutor would plea the case out to a lesser offense.
