question about m14 rifle stocks

dear smith and wesson forum i have a question about m14 rifle stocks. during the time that the m14 was on active duty with the United States Military was it always issued with a wood stock or were synthetic stocks used on the m14 rifle any and all help with an answer with this question would be greatly appreciated sincerely and respectfully mg357 a proud member of the smith and wesson forum

Both were used. The wood stocks did not do good in Viet Nam, I like the feel of the synthetic, it is slimmer than the wood stock.
