Ran across some white likker that has a distinct apple flavor. Most likely from the Tn or N Ga. mountains.

Is this apple brandy or what?

Sample isn't a problem. Fact, I thought I could identify it via some judicious sampling last weekend. I woke up in the barn the next day.

Wierd thing is......I don't have a barn.

....a taste 'a friend' had once turned him invisible....that warn't too bad until gravity kicked back in too...

What makes you think you're "right" even now?

The evidence is against you. First, you're posting here. Then admitting to drinking the real Mountain Dew? Is not going well for you.

Years and years and years ago in a bar, far, far away the men would bring their own shine in. We would keep it back-bar for them. They would purchase the house stuff then with a wink, pour them a side of their own squeezins.
I introduced a few of my pals to a drop or two when they came in. Have one who is still choking to this day.

It could have been applejack, or cooked with apple wood. Whenever a corn-mash or other "bland" mash is used to distill flavorings are very common added to the final product.

Be very careful what you drink. I came home from high school, back in the 60's, and found a mason jar in the pantry that contained a clear liquid. I figured my dad had got a jar of shine somewhere and I had to try a swallow. Big mistake, it was a fish emulsion plant food that my mom had mixed up for her house plants.

It’s still produced locally. In years past a local fire department chief almost lost his job when he procured moonshine for some out of state visitors.

There’s no telling what’s out in the woods around here. Strange plants along with dogs of ill temperament and weird people are occasionally encountered.
