Please see this - Voting in the NRA Election

//////////////////////////////////////////////
original post:

Greetings!

I'm not here to debate the merits of NRA membership.

This is for anyone that is an NRA member that is eligible to vote for members to the Board of Directors.

First, have you received your ballot for the upcoming election?

If you have received your ballot, how was it sent to you?

As always, thanks in advance for your help!

Yes, I got mine yesterday. It came in the latest American Rifleman. I switched over to the digital version of the mag to save the NRA money so I'm assuming I got this print issue so I would have the ballot.

Thanks for the replies. I know that the ballots usually come in the AR, but things were (intentionally) screwy in the past 3 years. For the ballots used in '21 and '22, they were directly mailed to me. I expected the same for '23, but missed the ballot while looking for it mailed separately.

Now I have to see how to get a ballot for my daughter, since she doesn't receive the magazines!

I think your daughter may get a magazine with the enclosed Director amd bylaws ballots. We have 3 life members in the immediate family and share one AR magazine to save costs to the NRA. The two members who don't receive a monthly magazine each received a First Freedom magazine with ballots.

Hopefully that will be how your daughter receives her ballots.

Like everyone else it came in the AR magazine a couple weeks ago.
I switched to digital in 2020 and they have sent one magazine a year to my house with a ballot in it.

I've been endowment life since the 90's if that matters.

This is the first year I took to intently reading all of the bios and spent a fair bit of time on each. Some very interesting folks out there. I figure that the existing board members who are running again want to re-up for another term, so I voted for most of them. Filled in the balance on no specific criteria, just who seemed right for the board.

I got mine in the AR Magazine, also, but I can't get past the weight of those guns (in real life) that Josey flipped around to blast the guy in the trading post. I think it said they're over 4# apiece. Pretty interesting article.

Ballot received in my "American Hunter" mag.

I did more research this time around before I voted...read the write-ups from the NRA and looked up most of the candidates on the internet to get as much background info as possible. I only voted for 12 candidates which included the ones NOT endorsed by the board of directors.

My feeling is that just as our federal government needs to "right-the-ship" so does the leadership of the NRA......& to quote Forest Gump, "that's all I've got to say about that". Don

The Walkers that Clint was twirling were made of rubber, according to the author of the article.

I have been fooling around with cap and ball revolvers since the early '70s, only large one I kept is a last generation 1st model Dragoon, I much prefer shooting a modified Ruger Old Army with a Douglas barrel. I am not sure but 4lbs may be unloaded weight, throw in 6 .457 balls and they are certainly a handful. The weight is significant enough that one of my friends that regularly competes with a modified Ruger Old Army only loads one cylinder at a time while competing with single shot pistols.

A BIG thank you. I was looking for this since I just got my ballot and wanted to be sure I did the right thing. No write in for me this time as this is not the time to be screwing around! Will be stepping down in a few years which should free me up to get put on the official ballot. Will keep y'all posted

Welcome. Keep us posted. :)
