Question about P 08 Luger

Thanks for all of the information. Now, what is it worth??

Asking prices for common Lugers are all over the place. I'll do a bit of spitballing and go with about $1,600.00. Being in 30 Luger rather than 9mm makes it less desirable to someone who wants it as a shooter, which is what this gun is.

FWIW, I have a 1918 model Swiss Luger in 30 Luger -



Reloading isn't such a PITA, so maybe get a few more $$$ from the right buyer.

Your Luger appears to be a Swiss 06/24 model. It should be marked with a Swiss Cross and "Waffenfabrik Bern" on the front toggle. Looks like a nice one!

Your Luger appears to be a Swiss 06/24 model. It should be marked with a Swiss Cross and "Waffenfabrik Bern" on the front toggle. Looks like a nice one!

You're correct - re the model and markings. Had to break it out of storage to check. Was working from memory.

Don't know if this means anything to anyone, but I bought it a few years back from Mike Krause of Krausewerks in San Mateo, CA. He makes Lugers from scratch in 45 ACP and 380. They go for about $30K. He's closed up CA shop and lives in NV, haven't heard from him for a while. Missed him at the last few Reno gun shows.

To further the knowledge of these wonderful pistols, here is a photo of the toggle train of my Swiss M06/24 to show its markings.

The dead giveaway that identifies this model is the cut of the grip panels. The 06/24 grips have plain margins around the checkering. I could see the margins in the photo posted above. Here's a detail of mine:
