I just noticed today that when cocked for single action, slight pressure on the trigger causes the hammer to click down ever so slightly. Then putting more pressure on the trigger will finally release the hammer fully. Basically pulling the trigger fully in single action in one swift motion causes 2 audible clicks and 2 distinct movements in the hammer. Does anyone else notice this on theirs?

FYI, this gun has only seen about 30 shots of 38 special since I bought it brand new.

Thanks in advance!

Something doesn't sound right here. It's not supposed to do that in single action.
If you have a gunsmith near you that you can get an opinion on, I'd show it to him.
If not, sending it in to the factory should get it fixed.
Single action on my 327 is just the slightest finger pressure, then the hammer drop. Nothing else.

I put a few drops of oil on it, and it seemed to "fix" the issue. I think what's happening is with a dry hammer, the friction was allowing the hammer to hold further back than it was supposed to, so slight pressure would allow the friction to release and the hammer would fall to where it's supposed to be cocked for single action. I probably explained that really poorly, but hopefully that made sense.

OP, hopefully, that will work, but a range test is now in order and, respectfully, more than 30 rounds, including magnums. Still seems something is not quite right, since revolvers are designed to function correctly even if not scrupulously maintained. Please let us know what transpires at the range. Good shooting!
