Sorry I don't know the proper terminology, but I've decide to try my hand at making an all leather IWB holster with a flat backing for my 3913. When I affix two pieces of leather together. How do I decide on how much buckle is needed in the outer piece to ensure a good gun fit? Not too sloppy, not too tight.

Thanks,
Hal

A surprisingly small amount: one half inch. Best way to do it: make the patterns identical at first, then cut the front panel's pattern vertically up the centre (parallel to the pistol's bore); then add the one half inch there. This permits all your hard work of sculpting and matching the outer edges to be preserved.
