Off all the things I don't really need but think I might like to have, a 610 is getting close to the top of the list...( ya, I know buy an older one, prelock, Yada yada. Probably ain't going to happen. I live in Wyoming and there are probably more gunshops in Denver than in the whole state of Wyoming. :

And the last one I saw a gunshow was priced at a Grand.) Anyway, I am not enamoured with the lock but for my use, hunting and plinking, I can live with it. So, now to the questions: Checking the S&W site, it looks like my choices are a 4" and a 6.5"( I am leaning toward the 6.5) But little info is given about construction..Is the barrel and shroud a one piece unit or is it a barrel covered by the shroud?

If you own one, how does it shoot both with the 10mm and when you shoot 40s( I own a 40 in a smi-auto and reload and cast for it, so I probably will shoot more 40 than 10.)?

And if any of you live in Wyoming and know where I might obtain an older unit, at a reasonable price, I would be interested in hearing from you.
