I have a very nice 686-5 2.5" traded for here on the board, box and all and have a question. I keep seeing the 'plus' designation on other snubbie 686's and want to know how long the 6 shot was produced before the 7 shot version came about. Anyone know approximate number produced?
The -5 is my shooter and the NIB -1 is the resident safe queen. I'm just curious as to the transition dates/numbers between the 6 & 7 shooters.

686-4 was the first 7 shot but was only around for about a year before the 686-5 came out.

Thanks for the reply's, especially the link to a previous post. Sorry about not reposting on this, we had a small tornado come thru here and knock out power as well as tearing up everything.
My -5 is a six shot, I am going to assume the change to 7 shots wasn't an all at once conversion?
Spec Ord number on box is 0118, an order for a distrubutor maybe or was there a mix between the 6 and 7 shot models?
Thanks

Glad you made it through the storms OK. I may be wrong but I believe you can still get both, the + did not replace the 6 shot is just another option.

This is correct. Both were offered, the plus was an option, in both -4 and -5.
