Question on 686+ 3”

A friend has just purchased a handsome, apparently new, 686+ 3” barrel. He is wondering if it is of current manufacture, possibly a year or two old, or?

I don’t have access to the box; SN is DPV02XX. Sorry, I don’t have price information available.

Hoping someone can advise year, possibly month, of manufacture.

My 686-6 with DNU sn is dated 3-17-21. Yours is likely soon after that. You can call S&W customer service, they used to be able to give that info out.

3-5-7 TALO

A friend has just purchased a handsome, apparently new, 686+ 3” barrel.
He is wondering if it is of current manufacture, possibly a year or two old, or?

If it's a 3" barrel (SKU# 150853) & has the non-fluted cylinder with the wooden 3-5-7 grips they were originally distributed by TALO as a special model.

They came out in 2010 & used a play on words in their name as they were not only .357MAGs but they were made only with 3", 5", & 7" barrels; 3-5-7 Magnum Series.

Later when TALO & S&W parted ways S&W continued making & marketing them their-self, as they still do today.

I have the 5" model.

The box should have the manufactured date on the label but it was often in a format not readily recognized, depending on the time frame made.
