Hi everyone,
I have been searching through the past threads, reviewing holsters for the 6906 (square trigger). Most were very helpful, but got a weird one, that I may not have found the answer to yet.

I usually carry OWB. I know this pistol will fit in my 92FS holsters that fit the 4506, but that is not really a great option. Wild Bills Concealment is making me one of their Contour Slide OWB holster, He informed me that he has molds for the 3rd gens, and while he does not have the square trigger, it's no problem to adjust. So, that takes care of that.

Now the kicker. I travel a lot, and I like a shoulder holster. I am usually wearing a sport coat, or vest, so this is a viable option. My brother had a Galco VHS 4.0 for a Beretta 96. This fits my 4506-1 very well. I have been wearing it for 2 days now, and I am comfortable. Being in NC with 90's expected next week, might not still be that way, but we will deal with it.

This got me to thinking, the 6906 will fit in the holster securely, but it is loose (rattles). Is there another pistol that is close enough to match the fit of the 6906 that I could purchase a second holster for the VHS? I have seen references to the SIG P226 is a close match, but that was all I really found mentioned.

As I am using the Galco Harness, it would have to be a vertical design the Galco is presently producing. If anyone has any experience with this, could you please share?

Max- Thanks, I was looking at the V4-248 (vertical carry version). Will Most likely get that, but nice to have some confirmations. Seems the 3rd gens are kind of a hunt and pick for holster. But worth it.

Square trigger guard 5906 pistols frequently fit Sig P226 holsters. Square trigger guard 6906 might fit P229 holsters.

That being said, a P229 has a 3.9" barrel, so maybe a 5906 (4" barrel) will fit that too.

So square guard non-large frame 3rd gen pistols will likely fit classic P226/229 holsters.

You may want to keep an eye on GunBroker for an actual 6906 holster as well. I have snagged I think 3 nice shoulder rigs for Smith autos over the years.
