I put a SL conversion 9 in my 40 FS and I shoot it best of any of my M&Ps including my 9FS.

I have the same gun and the same barrel and like it. I have 2400 rounds through it and it shoots good but not goog enough for Bullseye competition. I told my friend yesterday who manages the indoor range I belong to that I was going to have to give up on making these M&Ps into sniper pistols. lol I shoot a lot of bench rest with this gun and have done about all I can do changing optics and internal parts. 20yds I can shoot 2.5 to 3" groups in closer off hand I can keep them in a 1" bulleye. The factory barrel would not do that. Don

BTW I bought this as a conversion barrel for my 40 and shot it for months but was having problems with stove pipes when I hung a comp on it. After talking with Storm lake I find out it is really a 9mm not a conversion barrel and to late to return it to where I got it. It then moved to my 9 Pro L and has lived there since. No one on this forum or Storm Lake or the manf of the comp told me to change recoil spring but this month I bought a comp from Carver Customs and the owner who is also the CS fixed me right up. Don

I have about 1000 rounds through my Storm lake 40 to 9 conversions barrel for the full size, and about 400 rounds through the compact version - both with 100% reliability and excellent accuracy.

Just picked up a full size threaded 40 to 9 conversion barrel for use with a suppressor - even more accurate with it.

Storm Lake makes great products - buy with confidence.

DITTO!
have had my 40 to 9 SL conversion barrel for 4 years now with no problems or issues.
shoots straight and true.

I have a Storm Lake conversion barrel for my Glock 22 (.40 to 9mm). It fit in snugly and holds a good group.

If I can't get a tight group with my C.O.R.E. I'll do a barrel swap. If I have to buy another barrel I'll be sorry I bought this gun. With the money I'll have in it fixing it up I could have bought a Sig P226 Elite.

I have a storm lake 9mm in my M&P 40 works great
also have a KKM .357 Sig barrel for it The KKM looks a little better , maybe because its stainless, was going to get the ported model but a friend told me it upsets his front sight,
with soot

Plus their CS is also great. Don

Got 40 to 9mm SL barrel 3 yrs ago. 2000 rds down range w/o a single hiccup. Shoots better than I can hold lol.

Anyone know what the rate of twist is in the Storm Lake barrels for the M&P?

Storm Lake has both 9mm barrels and 40 S&W to 9mm conversion barrels .. the conversion barrel for my 40c has the same dimensions as my stock 40 S&W barrel as does the 357 Sig barrel I bought from them ..
the conversion barrels will say conversion in their description .

Have not shot the 357 sig barrel yet .. just got it for Christmas .. but the 9mm conversion barrel is as accurate as the stock 40 .. 1 3/4 inch 10round groups at 10 yards if I do my part !! On a good day I've had 5 round groups of 1 inch at the same distance ..

I have not seen a regular 9mm barrel to measure so don't know if it has the same dimension as the stock barrel .

edit - I measured these with a micrometer .

Twist rate for Storm Lake M&P is 1 in 16 inches. I went with the 1 in 10 inch Apex, as it improves accuracy in a wider range of bullet weights. I shoot American Eagle 147 grain FMJ with it and consistently get 1-2" at 25 yards, with fiber optic sights. I get almost that good with Prvi Partizan 115 grain FMJ. Ammo brands seem to make a bigger difference with this barrel, than weights.
