Ok... buddy of mine has a Llama .45... which he said he wants to get rid of... Then told me he was thinking of once getting rid of that he wants to get a Taurus or Ruger... Which I don't like either of those... I told him I'd search on here and see what others had to say and which they thought he should get in a .45...

So... what .45 would you get?

Tell him to get a Tanfoglio Witness in .45, then he can get the .22lr kit to go with it and shoot it for peanuts. I've seen these on gunbroker for under $500 new for the 45 and 22 together. Just my .02, Shoo

If it's the older 1911 style Llama, he'd be better off keeping it. I dealt with a few of them back when I was building 1911s and they weren't a bad gun, might need a little tweaking now and then, but were nice guns. The only down side to them was they didn't take all the mil-spec parts that will drop into other 1911 clones.

To me Taurus and Ruger both are trying to make the cheapest guns, with the cheapest parts, just to make money. I wouldn't buy either one of those. If he is intent on getting something else, he'd be better off looking elsewhere.

American Classic II 1911 from Metroarms if he's looking for a low end 1911. Mine has run everything without as much as a hiccup so far.
