I have a Smith and wesson 45 Special ops boot knife, I just got it in the mail and im having some problems with the sheath. I know that the knife is made for a boot, well the sheath atleast, and I dont wear boots; So why get a bootknife when you don't wear boots? Because I love the style of the dagger but the sheath is killing it. I hang it UPSIDE down on my belt so then the handle is pointing DOWN and when I pull out the knife, it slips off. The same happens even if I flip it right side up; the sheath just slips off the belt. How can I remove the clip and FLIP it so then it wont slip off when I remove the knife? Thanks for any type of help with this problem. :)

Sounds like the spring clip on the sheath is "sprung", and won't hold snugly. Look on line for Knife Kits, and there should be a link to sheath making parts. Should be able to locate a new spring clip.

I have had good luck doing things like you need , reversing left hand holsters and sheathes . I am asumming the sheath is a sewn leather product . Cut all the stitches out of the item and re-arrange the pieces in order for it to work for your application . Rivet or otherwise re-fasten the clip . Sew it all back together by hand , with a little tool called a stitching awl , very easy to use , only 5 to 10 dollars , at Tandy leather and many outdoor stores . They usually have instructions in the handle . I learned to use them about 50 years ago to repair convertable tops back in the days before air conditioning made this country soft .

or run a cable tie over the tip of the spring clip and back thru the mounting material. I use this to keep my EMS sheath from leaving my belt grin

Sounds like the clip needs replacing.....borntoraisehogs makes it sound very easy, and it is for someone who's been doing it for 50 years.
PM or email me if you need help.;)
